In order to manage the high demand for Adult ADHD assessments, the following parameters are in place;
- See www.dremes.ca for up-to-date information re: accepting referrals
- The office has only one fax number: (250) 381-6033
- Daily limit of TWENTY faxed referrals considered, as the office already operates at full capacity
- Once the office reaches daily referral limit, fax service is disconnected for the rest of the business day
- If you receive a message that the fax number is "not working or invalid," it only means that the fax service is disconnected
- Only referrals faxed directly from the clinician's office are considered
- The office does NOT accept referrals via email, postal service, or those sent directly from the patient
- Faxes are only accepted during business hours (NOT Wednesdays, weekends, evening, statutory holidays, or vacation)
- Although there is no "best time/day" to fax a referral, the service is usually activated at around 9:30 AM on weekdays (except Wednesday)
- The fax service is usually disconnected within 30 minutes - once the office receives twenty faxed referrals
- If your referral does not get successfully transmitted, consider waiting a few days and then try faxing again during business hours
- If repeated attempts are unsuccessful, either keep trying or consider sending your referral to another clinic
- See Pathways for other options, as this office does not have a list of other clinics providing ADHD assessment
- Limit your referral to just the essential information and remember to include the patient's email address
- Do NOT batch more than one referral per fax transmission, if that happens then unfortunately ALL get rejected
