This is an in-person ADHD treatment and support group facilitated by Dr. Craig Emes, with space for up to 10 participants. The group meets weekly on Thursday afternoons for 90-minute sessions at the Fairfield Psychology Clinic (1702 Lillian Road, Victoria, BC).

ELIGIBILITY
- Your ADHD treatment; including psychotherapy, medications, understanding side effects, tracking symptom changes, and building skills through psychoeducation and illness-management strategies.
- You do not have to be taking ADHD medications to attend this group.
- NO prescriptions are provided during these sessions. If applicable, Dr. Emes will communicate directly with your prescribing clinician regarding medication recommendations.
STRUCTURE
- Combination of a brief individual check-in for each participant (in group setting) with group-based discussion on access to wholistic treatment options, medication issues, coping strategies, and health education.
- Each month a new topic is presented during our meetings.
- Topics include;
- The most effective way to manage ADHD symptoms
- Medication options for adult ADHD
- Addressing common ADHD medication side effects
- Non-medication, brain-based strategies to manage ADHD symptoms
- Non-medication, body-based strategies to manage ADHD symptoms
- CBT skills: time awareness, scheduling and setting priorities
- CBT skills: activation and motivation
- CBT skills: setting up, implementing & maintaining organizational systems
- CBT skills: getting to bed and work on time
- Putting it all together: Adult ADHD treatment strategies
- NO COST is required, as this service is fully covered under the BC provincial medical insurance plan.
- There is no minimum commitment of sessions. Join the group for one, two, or however many sessions you want to support your ADHD treatment.
GOALS
- Increase access to ADHD Treatment - Learn wholistic treatment options available for your ADHD.
- Medication Monitoring – Ensure safety, efficacy, and side-effect management.
- Education – Provide information about ADHD medications, illness course, lifestyle interactions (sleep, diet, substance use).
- Peer Support – Participants may normalize their experiences, reduce stigma, and learn coping strategies from peers.
- Collaboration – If applicable, correspondence with your prescribing practitioner to maximize your ADHD treatment.
ELIGIBILITY
- Service is only available to participants previously diagnosed with ADHD by Dr. Craig Emes
- Ages 18 and older with active BC Provincial Health Number (PHN)
- Patient is motivated to attend and able to engage in a group therapy environment
- Not in acute crisis, suicidal, psychotic, manic, or intoxicated
